El arquitecto, urbanista y teórico japonés Arata Isozaki, de 87 años, fue galardonado con el Premio Pritzker 2019 por una obra “que supera el marco de la arquitectura para plantear cuestiones que trascienden eras y fronteras”, según el fallo del jurado.

Considerado un visionario por sus colegas, Isozaki siempre se ha enfrentado a su labor como arquitecto con un “profundo compromiso con el arte del espacio” y con una “precisión y destreza” demostradas en “las técnicas de construcción, en la interpretación de la ubicación y el contexto y en la intencionalidad de los detalles”.
